Single-storey administration projects are characterized by a higher demand for horizontal shifting of formwork materials, as compared to multi-storey buildings. Where the slab is elevated, the formwork needs to be supported by shoring towers like D-15. Large and similar surface areas make it possible that towers and slab formwork are assembled as one compact unit and then shifted horizontally to the next section to be shuttered. The assembled units are intended for use throughout the project duration without dismantling. Cranage time is saved either by shifting trolleys for propped decking or by castors fitted to the base jacks of the D-15 tower.
Large slab areas with rectangular layouts and flat surfaces determine also the use of panel decking system. This system allows error-free erection up to slab thickness of 95 cm and fast striking with drop head functions while less material is required. The handling is quickly mastered - even when the site staff is new to slab forming systems.
Heavy load bearing slab is another challenging task. Standard steel walers out of the Flex 50 wall system can be useful as primarily beam in combination with H20 timber beams as secondary beam. Infill areas are usually shuttered with Multiflex. Heavy drop beams following non typical grids are built using either stacking tower systems or props in combination with Multiflex decking.
Shear walls, core walls and staircase walls are best done in a panelized system like TriTec for increased speed and time efficiency. The site will demand fast concreting and high shuttering pace. Because the wall structures are not often repetitive, the TriTec wall system allows maximum utilization of materials over short construction period. Under all aspects, full safety is covered.
If fair face concrete finish is required, Flex 50 wall system is also recommended. Lesser flexibility, erection speed and lower material costs should be taken into consideration. Columns very often appear to have larger cross sections, which are repeating in similar structures. In this case, the utilization of Flex 50 column system makes sense.
